Documents required for Bulgaria Visa

  • Original Passport with at least 6 months validity and minimum 3 blank pages + all old passports if any
  •  visa application Form should be filled online (https://visaonweb.diplomatie.be/Account/Login?ReturnUrl=/en) Hand written visa application forms are not accepted.
  • 2 Scanned recent colour photograph. view image
  • Visa Application forms: completed and signed
  • Personal Covering letter: explaining purpose of travel to the country
  • Original Bank Statement: stamped & updated for last 3 months with bank seal
  • Air tickets: proof of return flight tickets from and back to your home country
  • Hotel reservation: proof of accommodation for your entire stay
  • Travel Itinerary: day-wise plan outlining all elements of the trip
  • Travel Insurance: covering the entire duration of trip
  •  If applicant is travelling for honeymoon then Marriage certificate or Marriage Card and Engagement /Marriage Photograph (Fresh ones i.e. NOT used earlier for any visa) are required.

 

Supporting documents as per your occupation, type of visit:

1. If Employed:

  • Leave Sanctioned Certificate: with company seal providing approval for leave
  • Salary Slips: of last 3 months

2.If Self Employed:

  • Business Proof: Registration License/MOA/Partnership deed
  • Company Bank Statement: stamped & updated for last 6 months with bank seal
  • Company’s Income Tax Returns: of last 3 years

3. If Retired:

  • Retirement Proof: pension book, statement etc

4. If Student

  • ID Card: from school, college or institute

5. If Minor

  • Birth Certificate showing the names of both parents
  • Legalized Letter of Consent (NOC)
  • If the child is travelling with one parent, the letter of consent authorizing travel must be legalized by the other parent
  • If the child is travelling alone or without either parent, a notarized letter of consent from both parents permitting travel
  • Death Certificate: in case one or both parents are deceased
  • ID Proof: of parents

6. If Visiting friend or relative

  • Invitation letter: stating the relationship with the inviter and purpose of visiting the country & assuring the responsibility for housing and related expenses during the guest's stay in Algeria
  • ID Proof of Inviter: Passport or Resident Permit
  • Address Proof of Inviter: Utility bill

7. If Sponsored

  • Sponsorship Letter: providing the name of the visitors, what the purpose of the visit is, relationship with the visitors, length of stay, dates of travel & any other additional information if necessary
  • ID Proof of Inviter: Passport or Resident Permit
  • Address Proof of Inviter: Utility bill
  • Proof of Financial Support: updated bank statement, pay slips

8. For Business Visa

Introduction/ recommendation letter from:

Registration certificate of the company from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of India:

  • One of the Chambers of Commerce and Industries, government of India;
  • Ministry of Commerce and Industry of India;
  • Export Promotion Council of India; or Reference number from Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Afghanistan.
  • Income tax documents of the last three years;
  • Letter from the company addressed to the embassy, introducing the business man for visa issuance;
  • Invitation letter from the local partner or prospect local partner company in Afghanistan;
  • Copy of the license (JAWAZ) of the local partner or prospect local partner company in Afghanistan.
  • *Note: The Embassy/Consul General has the right to ask for additional information or documents and request a personal interview with the applicant.

FAQ of Bulgaria Visas

1. Is Bulgaria a part of Schengen countries?

Bulgaria is a part of Europe but not yet signed Schengen Agreement & hence it is a Non Schengen country.

2. If applicant is in possession of Valid Schengen visa, then whether it is required to have separate Bulgaria Visa?

If applicant is in possession of Double entry or Multiple entry Schengen visa then he/she does not need to have separate Bulgaria Visa, he/she can enter Bulgaria on Schengen visa provided that at least one entry is left if it is a double entry Schengen visa & validity of travel in Bulgaria should be within the validity of Schengen visa.
Applicant can stay for a maximum period of 90 days within a period of 180 days

3. Is it necessary to have Personal Appearance for Visa submission?

Bulgaria being a Non- Schengen country, yet they have not implemented Biometrics process, hence applicant can authorize agent to submit & collect his passports & documents.
But embassy can ask applicant to come in person for submission or for any other additional requirements or for Interview at its own discretion.

5. Is it a Direct submission or through VFS?

As of now Bulgaria has not appointed VFS as their authorized partner & hence it is a direct submission in Embassy directly.

6. Do we need to take prior appointment for Visa OR we can go as Walk in?

Yes prior appointment is a must before you go to Embassy, Appointment has to be taken by calling Embassy. Passengers can’t go as Walk in for Visa submission.
Embassy only works on Monday, Wednesday & Friday, hence it is necessary to secure appointment well in advance.

7. What are the different types of Bulgaria Visa?

"C" visa (Short Term Visa): which is for a stay up to 90 days per 180 days, it can be issued for Tourism, Business, Transit, Family Visit etc. depending upon your travel. The visas can be issued either as single, double or multiple entry visa. The double or multiple entry visas can only be granted for frequent travelers (Will be at the discretion of Consulate, depending upon Previous Travel History of Applicant).
National "D" visa: long term visa for a stay over 90 and up to 365 days. The National visa is usually granted as multiple entry visa.
Airport Transit Visa “A” Visa: This visa issued for Transit passengers having halt at Bulgarian port either on their onward or return journey, on this Visa, passengers have to wait in International Transit lounge only.

8. How many days before can I apply for my Bulgaria Visa?

Maximum 3 months before your travel date, Applicant can apply for Bulgaria visa, before that it will not be possible to apply for Visa.

9. What is the Processing Time for Bulgaria visa?

Generally Bulgaria Visa takes around 15 Working Days to process excluding the day of submission at embassy
