Documents required for China Visa

  • Original Passport with at least 6 months validity and minimum 3 blank pages + all old passports if any;
  • Visa Application form;
  • 2 recent colour photographs. view image
  • Original Business Covering letter on business letterhead;
  • Invitation letter from host Company stating purpose of trip, business details etc;
  • Indian Company Registration Certificate.
  • • Detailed Original Covering Letter addressed to The Visa Officer Embassy of China New Delhi
    • Stay Itinerary (hotel)
    • Travel Itinerary (tickets)
    • Original bank statement of 6 months with original seal and signature on all the pages and with minimum balance should be Rs 1.5 Lakhs per person.
    • Day wise tour itinerary.

 

Supporting documents as per your occupation, type of visit:

  • 1. If Employed:

    • Original Leave sanctioned certificate with company seal and signature;
    • Last 3 months salary slip.

    2. If Self Employed:

    • Business Registration License / MOA / Partnership deed;
    • Company’s updated bank statement of last 6 months;
    • Company’s IT returns for last 3 years.

    3. If Retired:

    • Proof of retirement like pension book, statement etc.

    4. If Student

    • School / College / Institute ID Card;
    • Bonafide certificate.

    5. If Minor

    • Birth Certificate;
    • No Objection Certificate from the parents / non-accompanying parent on Rs 100/- stamp paper;
    • ID proof of parent like passport or PAN card.

    6. If Visiting friend or relative:

    • Invitation letter;
    • Inviter’s ID proof like Passport or Resident Permit;
    • Address proof i.e. utility bill, electricity bill etc.

    7. If Sponsored:

    • Sponsorship letter;
    • Sponsor’s national ID proof like Passport, PAN card or Resident permit;
    • Updated bank statement of last 6 months;
    • Income tax returns of last 3 years.

    8. For Business Visa:

    • Invitation letter from host Company stating purpose of trip, business details etc;
    • Covering letter from Indian company on company letterhead.

1. What are the different types of Visas for China?

There are different types of Visas like Tourist (L), Business (M), Transit (G), Work Permit Visa (Z) etc. depending upon your purpose of travel.

2. Is personal presence mandatory for visa submission?

No as of now there is no requirement of personal presence of Applicant for visa submission as there is no Biometrics process implemented by Chinese Immigration.

3. What is a standard processing time for Visa?

Standard processing time for China Visa is 4 Working Days.

4. Is there any option to process china Visa on urgent basis?

Yes Chinese Consulate/Embassy provides official facility to process visa on Urgent basis which is called as Express Visa at an additional cost, where visa will be processed in 2 Working Days instead of 4 Working Days.

5. Can Applicant submit his case on his own?

Yes applicant can submit case on his own directly to Chinese VFS Center OR he can avail services of Visa agent/Travel agents.

6. Is it a Direct Consulate submission or submission through VFS?

Chinese Consulates/Embassy of China has appointed VFS as their official service partners & hence all passports have to be submitted through VFS only & direct submission in Consulate is not possible, unless otherwise advised by Consulate/Embassy to do so.

8. Can I apply for Visa through any China VFS Center?

Consulate/Embassy of China follow Visa Jurisdiction (Geographical Coverage of each Consulate), Place of Residence of Applicant continuously for last 6 months will decide his jurisdiction for Visa & then accordingly he has to apply for visa to respective VFS Center falling under his jurisdiction(below examples will throw more light on this)

a) If Applicant is based in Mumbai & for some work / meeting he has travelled to Delhi & wants to apply for China visa, in this case as passenger is residing in Mumbai, his jurisdiction for Visa is Mumbai & not Delhi & hence even though China VFS Center is in Delhi, he has to apply for his visa from Mumbai VFS & not Delhi.
b) If applicant’s passport is issued from Delhi but for last 6 months as he is staying in Kolkata wants to apply for China Visa, in this case as he is based in Kolkata for last 6 months, his visa jurisdiction is Kolkata & hence he has to apply visa from China VFS Center in Kolkata & not Delhi with residence Proof document.

9. What is a visa validity of China?

Generally as visa is issued for a period of 3 months, visa should not be applied 3 months prior to your travel date, otherwise visa may not be of any use as it will expire before your departure date itself., as Visa takes 4 working days to process, it is advisable to apply for visa at least 15 days to 1 week prior to your departure date.

10. When should I apply for my China Visa?

Generally as visa is issued for a period of 3 months, visa should not be applied 3 months prior to your travel date, otherwise visa may not be of any use as it will expire before your departure date itself., as Visa takes 4 working days to process, it is advisable to apply for visa at least 15 days to 1 week prior to your departure date.

11. What is the process for collection of passports?

Either passenger can personally go to VFS Center where he has submitted his application & collect the passport OR He can authorize any other Person or Travel agent by giving Authority Letter & Original Pick Up form issued by VFS at the time of submission.

12. What is TWOV (Transit Without Visa) facility for China?

If Indian Nationals are travelling to a Third Country as their Final Destination and transiting through an Airport in China they can pass through China without Transit visa if they fulfill below criteria

  • i) They are in possession of Valid visa for Final Country of destination & Onward confirmed Ticket
  • ii) They remain in International Transit Area only
  • iii) Their next Connecting flight is within 24 hours from the time of Arrival
  • iv) This facility only for travelling to Third country via China & not on their return via China to India
  • v) This facility is available at below port of entry

  • Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Shenyang, Chongqing, Dalian, Xiang, Guilin, Kunming, Wuhan, Xiamen, Hangzhou
    If Immigration needs to be cleared OR Stay exceeds for more than 24 hours, then proper China visa has to be taken before departure.
