1. What are the different types of Visas for Singapore?

2. Is personal presence mandatory for visa submission?

No as of now there is no requirement of personal presence of Applicant for visa submission as there is no Biometrics process implemented by Singapore Immigration

3. What is a standard processing time for Visa

Standard processing time for Singapore visa is tentatively 3 to 4 working days, but as Visa approvals come through Singapore Immigration system if there is some problem on server it may take additional days.

4. Can Applicant submit his case on his own?

No applicant cannot submit case on his own directly to consulate as, Singapore Consulate/High Commission has appointed Authorized Visa Agents / Strategic Partners & applicants will have to route their applications through these agents only.

5. Is it a Direct Consulate submission or submission through VFS?

There is no VFS presence as of now for Singapore visa, it is a direct submission through consulate/Embassy only.

6. Is it possible to apply for any other visa simultaneously along with Singapore Visa, if I am travelling to multiple countries in one journey?

As per the Singapore Immigration rule, even though Physical passport need not be submitted to Consulate/Embassy, it is mandatory on all Authorized Visa Agents to retain Original passports & all other supporting documents for minimum period of 48 hours after online & they can call for any Original passport & other documents at any point of time after Online is done. Hence another visa can be applied only after Visa approval is generated.

8. Can I apply for Visa through any Singapore Consulate?

Singapore Immigration follow Visa Jurisdiction (Geographical Coverage of each Consulate), Place of Residence of Applicant continuously for last 6 months will decide his jurisdiction for Visa & then accordingly he has to apply for visa to respective Consulate/Embassy. (You can find detailed information in Consulates Information Page on this. below examples will throw more light on this
a) If Applicant is based in Mumbai & for some work / meeting he has travelled to Delhi & wants to apply for Singapore visa, in this case as passenger is residing in Mumbai, his jurisdiction for Visa is Mumbai & not Delhi & hence even though Singapore has Embassy in Delhi, he has to apply for his visa from Mumbai Consulate & not Delhi.
b) If applicant’s passport is issued from Delhi but for last 6 months as he is staying in Chennai wants to apply for Singapore Visa, in this case as he is based in Chennai for last 6 months, his visa jurisdiction is Chennai & hence he has to apply visa from Singapore consulate in Chennai & not Delhi with residence Proof document.

9. Singapore visa is valid for how many days?

Singapore visa can be issued for 1 month; 3 months or 2 years depends upon discretion of the Consulate & with duration of stay of maximum 30 days in one visit.

10. How many days before Can I apply for Singapore Visa?

One should not apply 1 month before his travel date, as sometimes visa can be issued for a minimum validity of 1 months as well in such cases visa issued will not be sufficient to cover your travel dates

11. Is Singapore Transit Visa being necessary for Indian Nationals? Some information on Transit visa

Singapore Consulate does not have any category for Transit Visa, They only issue Entry Visa (Social Visit Visa (Tourist Visa) OR Business Visa) If transit visa is required, then it is necessary to apply for proper entry visa before your travel, we suggest that you check with our chillontrip Expert Team on this before your travel. Singapore immigration also offers Visa Free Transit Facility (VFTF) where passenger transit through an Airport in Singapore without visa under certain conditions, but whether to allow such entry or not will depend upon discretion of Immigration officer so it is advisable to take visa from India only before departure.
